http://www.digital-photography-school.com/a-15-minute-exercise-to-help-you-improve-your-photography-in-2012
The challenge is to take 15 minutes out of your day and enjoy your surroundings.
1st - Pick a Place. Outside, inside, at home or away. Where ever you choose to go it doesn't matter, just make sure you follow the steps to this exercise so you can learn and grow more in your photography.
2nd - Sit down and relax for 10 min. No camera! Just sit, observe & drink in your surroundings. See the light. Look at the scenery. Mentally start taking, making & setting up shots. Become familiar with what or who is around you. Feel your surroundings.
3rd - Now you can take pictures. Spend the next 5 minutes capturing all you've observed. Be selective and open. Capture what you see.
Today I tried this a couple times. I needed a day of rest and relaxing and this was one of my favorite ways to do it.
My 1st location was inside my house. I was watching all the kids while Israel (my wife) as gone and so I just sat and watched them and the area we where in.
