Adventures in Enumclaw, WA

Traveling with a camera is something I really enjoy doing.  And, as a Federal Express Courier who has a passion for photography, it is not always possible.  But, when I get the opportunity I try to take it.

This blog is about a folder of images I've taken on my many trips to Enumclaw, WA. while delivering packages to surrounding residents and businesses (e.g. - Crystal Mountain Ski Resort).

If you've never been to Enumclaw or don't know where it is, then I hope my images and descriptions might give you a better idea.
Or, if you have been to Enumclaw and you know where it is then maybe I might get the chance to show you something you haven't seen yet.  I know, I know. Hard to say that about Enumclaw, but beside the inner city being so small the actual city limits are quite big.  The fact that Crystal Mountain and Green Water are both in Enumclaw's zip code is a good enough example!

Take a look at the picasa album link and share your thoughts.  I have fun just taking pictures of all the amazing things I get to see in a day and I'm pleased to share my sites & scenes with all of you to see too.

Holden Stegman's Senior Portraits

Holden Stegman class of 2012
Super Bowl Sunday we photographed Holden for His Senior Portraits.

Because of the uncertainty of the weather.  We had planned an indoor studio styled session.

But the weather turned out in our favor and we found ourselves outside drinking in the sunlight.

The sun, clouds and overall atmosphere for the Super Bowl celebrations made our time together a blast.

Holden (who is my cousin) made our shoot amazingly easy.  He is so laid back and comfortable to be around that we both relaxed and settled into the session easily. He did as he was told to do and posed perfectly (almost every time). ;~)

And as you can see, he is a stud for sure.

Thank you Holden for allowing us to capture and collect this memorable time of your life!

15 min. Photography Challenge

15 min. Photography Challenge

Today I received a regular email from Digital Photography School (dps). http://www.digital-photography-school.com/  These regular email have tasks, challenges, tips & hints on photography.  One of them today was the 15 min. Photography Challenge.
http://www.digital-photography-school.com/a-15-minute-exercise-to-help-you-improve-your-photography-in-2012

The challenge is to take 15 minutes out of your day and enjoy your surroundings.
1st - Pick a Place. Outside, inside, at home or away.  Where ever you choose to go it doesn't matter, just make sure you follow the steps to this exercise so you can learn and grow more in your photography.

2nd - Sit down and relax for 10 min.  No camera!  Just sit, observe & drink in your surroundings.  See the light.  Look at the scenery.  Mentally start taking, making & setting up shots.  Become familiar with what or who is around you.  Feel your surroundings.

3rd - Now you can take pictures.  Spend the next 5 minutes capturing all you've observed.  Be selective and open.  Capture what you see.

Today I tried this a couple times.  I needed a day of rest and relaxing and this was one of my favorite ways to do it.

My 1st location was inside my house.  I was watching all the kids while Israel (my wife) as gone and so I just sat and watched them and the area we where in.

My 2nd location was out in the back yard.  My company became my favorite subjects during my time.
Kodah.  Keeping me company outside.

Tiger Lilly.  Also keeping me company outside.
I hope you enjoy trying this challenge.  The time is well spent and relaxing.  Please let me know how it turns out and share your pictures with me too.  I'd love to see them and learn from your experience.f
